Penelope Penelope spent the first two years of her life in a research lab being used for experiments. Most of her skin was taken for skin grafts and she had to endure numerous injections. In spite of all of that, she remained loving and became a favorite of the lab workers — they couldn’t bare to put her down when she no longer had skin left to take. She was shipped to the sanctuary in a truck filled with expensive show horses to begin her life as a real pig, doing what pigs like to do! She is a wonderful girl and is now the favorite of the dogs — they argue over who gets to sleep next to her. She loves to lay down in the shallow water of the pond, but must be covered in sun screen or she will burn as she has no hair left to protect her. She is a real character and insists on being left alone at nap time to snooze under her fan, and will let you know she is not pleased if her breakfast is late. She knows how to open the gate to her stall to take herself out for a walk. She is almost always seen in the company of the dogs instead of that of the other pigs.
