Keyword(s): News All Creatures Sanctuary recently took in a litter of kittens that had been abandoned by their mother. Also recently taken in was a mixed-breed puppy named Dancer. She was given to us by a woman who found her running around in a junkyard. We are in the process of raising much-needed funds to build a larger and hurricane-proof barn. The Florida tropics have experienced many severe storms and hurricanes in the past few years, and our barn unfortunately is not large or strong enough to adequately protect all of the animals under such conditions. For this reason, it is essential that we improve upon our current barn by building a bigger and sturdier one. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our wonderful equine friend, Swift. He was rescued in New York many years ago by Tina Lufkin, and despite his eye injury, spent many long and happy years with her. Swift was a gentle and humorous creature who welcomed each animal to the sanctuary, and had a special bond with many of them. He was one of the original mascots of the sanctuary, and everyone loved to visit with him. We were blessed by his presence in our lives. Thank you, Swift! © 2006 - All Creatures Sanctuary
