Blue Man, Winnie, Jennie, Trissie and Mary Jane

Dog
Blue Man, Winnie, Jennie, Trissie and Mary Jane, American Bulldog mixes, were brought to the Sanctuary by a kind man who had found their mother on the side of the road. She was starving, and he immediately took her to the vet only to find out she was pregnant and it was too late to abort her puppies. She subsequently gave birth, but was too weak to take care of her puppies. The man began to bottle feed the puppies himself every four hours, but after two days he called All Creatures in desperation, saying that he was going to lose his job if he didn’t go back to work and if he couldn’t find someone to care for the puppies. He said he would keep the mother, so All Creatures agreed to accept the five 2-day-old puppies. They were nursed on bottles every two hours for the next two months, and grew fat and very mischievous! Today, they are fully grown and gorgeous, and they patrol the sanctuary, meeting and greeting visitors and all the animals. The dogs enjoy sleeping with the pigs and hanging out with them in front of their fan, and they still enjoy getting into mischief — especially Mary Jane!

Ronnie

Dog
Ronnie was found by a maintenance worker in a crack park in Miami. It took him two months of daily feeding to catch her and bring her to the sanctuary. She arrived here a rack of bones, loaded with heart worms and absolutely terrified of everything. For the first few months, all she did was hide and shake — finally she started to trust. Today she hangs out happily with the All Creatures creatures, but still tends to hide from strangers. A soft voice and a juicy carrot or dog biscuit often works wonders in getting Ronnie to come out of her shell.

Cappy

Dog
Cappy came to the sanctuary as a tiny, waggly puppy, and has grown to be the a gorgeous, regal and yet still goofy dog. Cappy — short for Capricorn because of his birth sign — was one of five Shepherd/Akita mix puppies that needed a home when their mother died suddenly from neglect by her owner. Cappy's four littermates were placed in homes and Cappy's home became All Creatures. He now patrols the grounds of the sanctuary and makes his rounds daily to say hello to all of the animals. He is extremely gentle, and can often be found under the palms in the company of George and Rosie, the resident cows, or laying down with one of the pigs to take a nap. He also likes to hang out with the other dogs and see how many biscuits and carrots he can talk you into giving him.

Jack

Dog
Jack, a Jack Russel mix, was found in a cardboard box when he was only a few days old, covered with fleas and filthy. All Creatures rescued him, and now he has been at the sanctuary for many years. With his greying muzzle and sweet, Teddy bear face, he is the old man of the sanctuary and likes to boss everyone around.

Dancer

Dog
Dancer was found as a small puppy at a local junkyard running around with her four siblings. Her mother, a purebred Great Dane, was tied up on a chain, and nothing but skin and bones. The woman who found the dogs was somehow able to convince the owner to let her take all of them, including the mother. The woman was able to find homes for all of them except one, so she called a local humane organization which referred her to us. We took in the puppy and named her Dancer because despite her massive size, she liked to leap for joy and trot with her paws up high, showing off her sweet and goofy temperament. She is the biggest dog at the sanctuary, standing as high as a small pony and weighing almost 150 pounds!

Angel

Dog
Angel was rescued from a local pound by an 80-year-old woman who already had too many dogs. When she found that she could not care for Angel properly, the woman brought her to All Creatures Sanctuary. It was clear that Angel had been abused at some point in her life — she was extremely shy and fearful. Today, Angel is much more friendly and hangs out with the other dogs, patrolling the farm and hoping for handouts of cookies and carrots. She is known for her fuzzy, punk-style hairdo.
